Trans-resveratrol provides the body with an important building block for neutralizing free radicals and modulating inflammatory signaling pathways.

Trans-resveratrol is the most active and stable form of resveratrol, a phytochemical belonging to the polyphenol group. In the human body, this compound plays a central role in several protective mechanisms against oxidative stress and low-grade inflammation.

In the cardiovascular system, resveratrol activates the protein deacetylase sirtuin 1 (SIRT1). SIRT1 acts as a cardioprotective molecule that protects against aging processes, enhances resistance to hypertrophic and oxidative stress, inhibits apoptosis of cardiomyocytes, and regulates energy metabolism in the heart.

In addition, resveratrol activates AMPK, a key regulator of cellular energy metabolism. This improves cellular energy production while reducing inflammatory processes.

A recent review by Zhang et al. (2021) describes how resveratrol supports the healthy function of nerve cells, improves signaling pathways in the brain, and reduces cellular stress—with positive effects on cognitive function in older adults. At the same time, resveratrol lowers inflammatory markers such as TNF-α and IL-6, which play a key role in chronic diseases.

The result is trans-resveratrol that is free of solvent residues, pesticides, and genetically modified components.
